Many people would rather have root canal than having their headshot taken - perhaps they've never had a good picture taken of them, or there are some things about their face/body they don't feel good about, or they just get uncomfortable in front of the camera. One way to think about it is like you're acting, on stage playing different roles. Maybe you're walking into a board of directors meeting, or giving that look to your 7 year old that you know will get him/her to stop what they're doing, etc.. Some looks convey confidence, approachability. Others convey a bit of mystery, the "I've got a secret" look. Play, have fun - it's your stage! Anne recently came to the studio for a headshot for her new job - we had fun, playing around with different looks, angles, etc.. And she did great!
